The link below describes camping opportunities in
West Virginia State Parks.

KOA - Northfork, WV.  This campground is just 20 miles from Coalwood.  It opened in 2007 and has RV sites, tent sites and cabins.  Click here to visit their web site: www.koa.com/where/wv/48116/

Berwind Lake Wildlife Area  (8 tent/trailer sites) appears to be the second closest camping to Coalwood.  The campsite is just south of War.  War is approximately seven miles south of Coalwood.

Panther State Forest (6 trailer/tent sites) is located west of Coalwood between Coalwood and the Virginia/Kentucky borders.

Camp Creek State Park (37 tent/trailer sites) is located at exit 20 of I-77 north of Bluefield.  (Bluefield is at exit 1 of I-77 and approximately one hour from Coalwood.)

Bluestone State Park (75 tent/trailer sites) and Bluestone Wildlife Management Area (315 tent sites) are located approximately 22 miles east of I-77 exit 14.  This would make them approximately 40 miles northeast of Bluefield.
